When you cast this spell, you can designate creatures to be unaffected by it. Whenever any other creature enters the area or starts its turn there, or when the area enters a creature's space, the creature must make a Charisma saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 2d6 necrotic damage and has disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks until the end of its next turn. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage only. A creature makes this save only once per turn. At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 3rd. | |
