Renaer Neverember (reh-NAIR) is the son of Dagult Neverember. The two are estranged, and Renaer has not spoken to his father in years.
Renaer and his friend Floon Blagmaar were kidnapped by Zhentarim after a night of drinking. The Zhents believed that Renaer knew something about the money that his father had stolen hidden away in Waterdeep, and interrogated him about something called the "Stone of Golorr". While they were incorrect in their assumption, they apparently found something they were looking for hidden inside a secret compartment of Renaer's mourning locket, which Renaer had no knowledge of.
While being held captive by the Zhentarim, members of the Xanathar Guild attacked the warehouse. The Xanathar thugs grabbed Floon, believing he was Renaer, operating under the same incorrect beliefs that had led the Zhentarim to capture the pair in the first place. After rescuing Renaer from the Zhent warehouse, he assisted you in rescuing Floon from the Xanathar hideout. Renaer is eternally grateful to you for rescuing his friend, and may be able to do favors for you in the future.
