You evoke a foot-wide patch of rippling gold, like sunlight on water. Reaching into it, you can feel a handle. Pulling it rings a celestial bell, and a minute later the Calibration Gate appears within 5 ft. of you. It can materialize anywhere, including indoors, outdoors, underwater, or even in midair. The Calibration Gate remains where you summon it for 5 minutes, before disappearing again.

Anyone can enter the gateway, but they cannot leave by the same route once the 5 minutes expires. Furthermore, at the end of the hallway the gate opens into are three celestial lions guarding the path into Yu-Shan. Legitimate business can get you into the city without fuss, but anyone else will have considerable trouble, and defeating a celestial lion in combat would be incredibly difficult. And after defeating the three lions in the hall and breaching the gate they guard, an intruder will find six more lions, who will immediately call for reinforcements.
