Waterdeep:Aurinax

Aurinax is an adult gold dragon, who Dagult Neverember recruited to guard his stolen gold. Aurinax was paid a considerable sum of gems, as well as with the dragonstaff of Ahghairon, which permitted Aurinax passage through the Ahghairon's Dragonward, a magical barrier around Waterdeep that keeps dragons at bay.

The dragon spent much of his time spent transformed into an elderly dwarf named Barok Clanghammer, to better keep a hold of the dragonstaff, which he used as a walking stick when disguised as Brarok.

Although he understood that the gold he guarded had been obtained unfairly, he had let his greed cloud his judgement and agreed to guard the treasure. He was under orders not to let anyone except for Neverember himself or one of his vassals to remove the treasure. And yet, it was with persuasive argument that Randolph Vistar convinced him that the gold should be returned to the city. (Even if Randolph and the rest of the owners of the Revenant's Rest instead gave the money to Captain Zardoz Zord.)
