Waterdeep:Volothamp Geddarm

Volothamp "Volo" Geddarm (VOH-loh-thamp geh-DARM) is a traveling chronicler, wizard, and celebrity author. You first met him at the Yawning Portal, where he was signing copies of his book On Goblins: My Life Among the Conquering Host. After seeing your prowess in battle against a troll that killed a "dipper" at the tavern, Volo hired you to find his missing friend, Floon Blagmaar.

Upon your successful completion of the rescue, Volo admitted he did not have the funds to pay your reward in coin. He is waiting on delayed royalties from Volo's Guide to Monsters, but instead of coin, he has deeded you the Trollskull Manor instead. Volo bought the manor in an attempt to get research for his book Volo's Guide to Spirits and Specters, due to the rumors that the manor is haunted, but was unable to make use of the manor as he had intended to do.

Volo recently completed writing Volo's Enchiridion to Making Friends. At the launch party, he was murdered by his illegitimate half-nymph daughter. However, Vajra Safahr let you in on a secret that few people in the world know: Volo is a Weave anchor, one of a small number of people whose continued existence is mandatory for the proper functioning of magic on Toril. His resurrection would be secured.
