Revision as of 05:41, 20 June 2025

Faerûn uses the Calendar of Harptos to track the seasons and years. The Waterdeep campaign began on Ches 1, 1495, and this page will keep track of the events in the campaign, chronologically.

Alturiak

  1.
  1. Grand Revel
  1. Floon Blagmaar and Renaer Neverember are kidnapped by Zhentarim thugs who believe Renaer has information on the location of money his father embezzled.

Ches

  1. Rhyestertide Campaign begins. Volothamp Geddarm holds a book signing in the Yawning Portal for his newest work, On Goblins: My Life Among the Conquering Hopst. A "dipper" is killed by a troll in the Yawning Portal, and your display of martial prowess convinces Volo to hire you to find his missing friend Floon.
  2. Volo gifts you the deed to Trollskull Manor as a reward for rescuing Floon.
  3. You obtain a 1,000 gp loan from Cassalanter Bank. The City Watch assigns Noctus Vrii-Bildiik to guard a group of dungsweepers. Davil Starsong inducts Ludwig into the Zhentarim and sends him to stop a serial killer in the Dock Ward who is targeting elves and half-elves.
  4. You begin meeting with guild representatives to get quotes for repairs to the Trollskull Tavern, and pay them for the work. The serial killer in the dock ward is defeated. The job to protect the dungsweepers will be completed on Ches 13.
  5. You meet more guild representatives.
  6. You met the last of the guild representatives, and your funds are rather short. A letter from Mattrim "Threestrings" Mereg sent you to meet Mirt of the Harpers at the opera, who inducted Randolph Vistar into the organization and assigned you a task to collect information from a talking horse. Repairs to the Trollskull Tavern will be completed on Ches 18.
  7. You found the talking horse who works for the Harpers, and learned the Harpers have their eyes on Davil and Yagra of the Zhentarim.
  8. The Emerald Enclave asked you to investigate scarecrows causing problems in farms outside the city walls.
  9. You destroyed a scarecrow, and took home a barrel of Stoutfellow Reserve wine in thanks.
  10. The Stoutfellows took their wine back, because the scarecrow attacks hadn't stopped.
  1. The dungsweeper protection job was completed.
  2. You confirmed that you had destroyed all of the scarecrows, or at least the attacks seemed to have stopped. Murgo Bumblestout has asked you to steal a handkerchief during the Twin Parades on behalf of the Harpers, and deliver it to a tiefling girl living in a box in the Dock Ward.
  3. You met with the hermit Hlam living in a cave on Mount Waterdeep, to retrieve a pearl of wisdom on behalf of the Blackstaff. While cryptic, Hlam's message did clue you in to the fact that Waterdeep is now embroiled in a "Grand Game", and you have catching up to do.
  4. You interviewed job applicants for working at the Revenant's Rest. You have settled on hiring Lif the poltergeist as bartender; Patric Nivka, a young human man who has been kicked out of his parents' home, as server, and he will also be living in the Revenant's Rest attic (no excuse for missing work!); and Reynardo Greenleaf, a half-elf man who takes great pride in his magical dishes as cook.
  5. A new neighbor has moved into Trollskull Alley, one "Lady Boguescu". You have not met the Lady herself yet, but Randolph has made a good impression on her head servant, Lazlo Lukresh. A representative of the Order of the Gauntlet recruited you to deal with some Zhentarim thugs who were running a protection racket in the Field Ward. While you successfully apprehended the thugs, they dealt enough damage to the Loose Gyre during the fight that its owner will likely be out of business anyway.
  6. Repairs to Revenant's Rest are complete. You met Ulkoria Stonemarrow and her Shield Guardian; as a representative of the Watchful Order of Magists and Protectors, she was checking up on Finn and Ludwig and their new address. As it turns out, she used to own the building before leaving the city in her adventuring days, and was able to fill you in on some of its history, including such events as a hag using it as an orphanage as a cover for eating children, and the circumstances of Lif's death.
  7. Spring Equinox / Fey Day The Revenant's Rest held its grand opening, with the Appleblossom siblings directing in new clients, and a number of familiar faces showing up. Mirt was among those who joined the party, and at the end of the evening he told you about Blue Alley, a dungeon set up in the Sea Ward that was only accessible at night on certain days of the year, such as the spring equinox. He offered to pay you to retrieve a statue called the Celestite Unicorn from it.
  8. You attended the housewarming party for Lady Gertruda Boguescu and met your new neighbor.
  9. First day of Fleetswake / The Twin Parades During the parade, you pilfered a handkerchief from Laertes Hansberg, and delivered it to a tiefling girl in the Dock Ward. Although given her exit, perhaps she was a fiend of some sort.
  10. A nimblewright used a necklace of fireballs in the middle of Trollskull Alley, in broad daylight. It stole something from a gnome who was on his way to meet Renaer Neverember at the Revenant's Rest before escaping in the confusion. At the House of Wonder, you received a clairvoyance crystal discovered within the chest of another nimblewright, which you hope will lead you to more information. The deceased include:
    • Dalakhar, the rock gnome whose corpse was burgled. Twice.
    • Bobbin and Cora Appleblossom, two of the four halfling siblings who regularly perform in the street for money.
    • Maccus Murphy, owner of the Chultan restaurant Mezro. He is survived by his wife Aaliyah.
    • Gloriana Lemieux, one of the twin sisters who own the twin salons across the street from Revenant's Rest. Gloriana was the one who favored Ludwig.
    • Brynn Hilltople, a halfling who had interviewed to be a barmaid at the Revenant's Rest, but who you turned down.
    • Two Zhentarim thugs
  11. Following leads, you spoke with Captain Zardoz Zord of the Sea Maiden's Faire. He's been the one selling nimblerwirghts around town, and he graciously supplied you with the information that the nimblewright you're looking for was purchased by the Gralhund family. You infiltrated the Gralhund Villa after sundown, and ran into a Zhentarim strike force who began their attack after you arrived. The Zhentarim were searching for "the Stone", which unfortunately for them was stolen by a group of drow in the confusion.
  12. The Emerald Enclave wants you to deal with a necromancer who is stealing bodies from the City of the Dead, and the Blackstaff wants you to deal with a young bronze dragon causing problems in the harbor.
  13. Captain Zord directed you to Rongquan Mystere for your inquiry into the Bregan D'earthe. Rongquan deduced that the Stone stolen from the Gralhund Villa was most likely the Stone of Golorr, an artifact which has fallen into the hands of Fenerus Stormcastle. Fenerus has been arrested by the Watch for unrelated crimes, but will know where he has hidden the artifact.
  14. Questioning Fenerus revealed that he is a cut-out, delivering dead drops to a handler. While he does not know who he is working for, he did follow the man who picks up his deliveries, learning that it was a drow who took the messages to the Sea Maiden's Faire.
  15. After confronting Captain Zord (to Randolph's chagrin), the captain revealed that the Stone of Golorr had come into his possession. However, the Stone is blinded, and it needs three "eyes" to regain full operation. He has recruited you to recover the eyes for him, and will contact you when he has a target for you to hit.
  16. The Watch is cracking down on the Black Network as a result of the "Gralhund Villa Bloodbath", and Istrid Horn has asked for a place to lay low. She has disguised herself as a male dwarf using the name "Jorn" while she stays at the Revenant's Rest. Lady Gertruda Boguescu has been revealed as a vampire, and her seneschal Lazlo seems intent on controlling her.
  17. First day of the Fair Seas Festival Captain Zardoz Zord has placed Ott Steeltoes, an agent of the Xanathar Guild, in your basement, and instructed you to hold him for three days. The Xanathar Guild members have already tried to recapture Ott once, who has been ranting that he'll call his master and tell him who you are and he'll get revenge on you.
  18. Last day of the Fair Seas Festival and Fleetswake You prevented the Zhentarim from gaining an ally in the form of a Red Wizard of Thay, and also met a girallon named Walbash who had become intelligent as a result of a cursed Headband of Intellect. No Xanathar Guild members attacked the Revenant's Rest in search of Ott.

Tarsakh

  1. First day of Waukeentide / Caravance Volothamp Geddarm was murdered by his illegitimate half-nymph daughter at the release party for his new book, Volo’s Enchiridion to Making Friends. The walking statue the party was being held in transported itself and all of the guests to the Ethereal Plane until you solved the mystery; according to Vajra Safahr, Volo is one of Mystra's anchors of the Weave, and as such his life is important to the continuing function of magic on Toril, and his resurrection would be paid for.
  2.
  3. Captain Zord has tasked you with retrieving the first of the three Eyes of Golorr. It is held by the Xanathar Guild, stored in something called "Sylgar's Bowl".
  4. You infiltrated the Xanathar Guild lair, and participated in one of the gladiator arena battles hosted there.
  5. Goldenight You stole an Eye of Golorr out from under the Xanathar's nose. Fortunately, you did not also steal Sylgar.
  6. A wizard transformed into a sheep sought your help to defeat his traitorous apprentice. Unfortunately, while the apprentice was defeated, the subsequent attempt to turn the wizard back to normal resulted in his death; a consequence of the modifications made to his Wand of True Polymorph.
  7. Guildsmeet Dasher Snobeedle was holed up in a hostel called Hole in the Wall, a haven for the wererat gang known as the Shard Shunners. He joined the gang and became a wererat. You returned him to his mother, who will now hide him from the world. The doppelganger Naneatha created some drama when Durnan accused her of killing and replacing his friend.
  8. The doppelganger Cecil aspires to be a legendary musician, actor, and playwright.
  9. Willifort brought Lady Cassalanter with him to the interview, who gave you a lead on the location of the Eye of Golorr held by the Zhentarim. The Eye is apparently either held in Yellowspire, or else in Kolat Towers. Kolat Towers is protected by a wall of force surrounding it.
  10. Last day of Waukeentide / Leiruin You obtained blueprints of Kolat Towers. At Yellowspire, you rescued a broadsheet publisher being held captive by a group of Baneite cultists.
  11. You reported to Threestrings that Bonnie's doppelgangers would not be suitable as allies to the Harpers, and advanced on Kolat Towers. You met Manshoon, who has allowed you to live in exchange for retrieving the Eye of Golorr stolen from the Black Network by the Xanathar Guild... and then you promptly stole his Eye of Golorr instead.
  12. A group of Zhentarim has begun watching Meloon Wardragon on Ludwig's behalf.
  13. The Cassalanters' ball didn't go entirely to plan, but you did gain some valuable intelligence for when you return to steal the final Eye of Golorr.
  14. Kolat Towers have been secured for the Doom Raiders, and Manshoon has been driven out of the city. One player in the Grand Game has been removed from the board.
  15. You have secured the final Eye of Golorr, stolen from Cassalanter Villa. It seems the Cassalanters are somehow connected to a cult of Asmodeus.
  16. Something is wrong with Meloon Wardragon. His mind is inhuman. On the way back to Trollskull Tavern, you ran into Jalester, who was under attack from Ziraj the Hunter.
  17. At Lady Haventree's party, where you were tasked with rooting out a drow spy, your use of detect thoughts unveiled Jarlaxle Baenre, leader of the Bregan D'aerthe. He seemed to be aware of your relationship with Captain Zord.
  18.
  19. You let Mirt know about your suspicions regarding the Cassalanter family, but without hard evidence there wasn't much he could do; there's a difference between raiding the extradimensional sanctum of a wizard who is supposed to have been dead for centuries, vs. one of the most powerful nobles in the city.
  20.
  21. Captain Zord brought you the information you've been sorely seeking: the Vault of Dragons is accessed from the Brandath Crypts, the family plot owned by Renaer's mother's family. Unfortunately, the hidden vault under the crypts is locked
  22.
  23. The factions are escalating their movements. Intellect devourers and grells have both been spotted in the city.
  24. You assembled the keys to open the vault, but spent so long doing it that the sun (a necessary component for the ritual to open the doors) had gone down.
  25. The ancient dwarven vault tells a story that few, if any, are aware of: a friendship between Dumathoin, the dwarven god of secrets, Ilsensine, the god of mind flayers, and Laduguer, the god of duergar.
  1. Tarsakh ends.

Greengrass

First day of Spring

Greengrass is a single day between the months of Tarsakh and Mirtul. It is not itself technically a month.

Mirtul

  1.
  1. First day of Plowing and Running
  2.
  3. You discovered the the "vampires" infesting the first level of Undermountain are actually a gang of humans who are merely disguising themselves as vampires, extorting adventurers who explore the dungeon. You discovered watch posts on the Dungeon Level maintained by the Xanathar Guild.
  4. Last day of Plowing and Running You rescued an adventurer named Kelim the Weasel, who had been separated from his adventuring party the Fine Fellows of Daggerford. The Rustbone goblin clan runs a bazaar (and inn, and tavern, and bathhouse) on level 2; their leader has become "cursed" to appear human, and he seems to enjoy the extra height. It seems the Xanathar Guild is out for your blood; they sent an assassin to kill you in the night, and he even came ready with a spell scroll of dispel magic to deal with the potential of your ability to cast tiny hut.
  5. You summoned one of Halaster's apprentices who had lost his favor, a drunkard named Kalabash, and killed him when he turned out to be violent. Another of the Mad Mage's apprentices seemingly went mad after being deemed unsuitable for "Dwemercore", and in her experiments with lightning become something like a flameskull, but with lightning instead of fire. Halleth killed the last of his former companions who helped murder him. You defeated more members of the Xanathar Guild, certainly not improving relations with them.
  6. You met the drow Rizzeryl, working on behalf of the Zhentarim to weaken the Xanathar Guild's hold on the Arcane Chambers. After delivering him the heads of the Xanathar leaders on the level, he gave you a key to operate the gates between levels 6 and 8, and a broach and letter that should grant you free passage through the House Auvryndar territory on level 3. When you reached Sargauth Level, Haaster gave you a mission: Kill T'rissa Auvryndar, rout her followers in "drow town", and cast T'rissa's holy symbol of Lolth into the Sargauth River. You achieved step 1 on the 11th. One of the drow prisoners was a hobgoblin of the Legion of Azrok, who happily led you back to Legion territory. After getting your registration papers, you took a chance to rest in safety.
  7. You cleared Drow Town of the Auvryndar forces, and as a reward for your efforts, Halaster awarded you with wisdom. Self-respect is the greatest power of all. Traveling down the Sargauth River to Skullport, you found the town being crushed under Xanathar rule. A Harper dragonborn mage named Felrax had a plan to overthrow the Xanathar, involving curing the Thirteen flameskulls of their dementia.
  8.
  9. A tincture made with the blood of a Netherese descendant, an incantation in ancient Netherese, and a location of power erected in ancient high Netheril allowed you to restore on of the flameskulls, who in turn was able to cure its brethren. A coven of hags attempted to stop you, but you killed two of them, and one got away. The restored flameskulls assaulted Skull Island, eventually freeing the Port of Shadows from Xanathar control.
  10. You returned to Waterdeep for a day of rest before delving back into Undermountain once more. A shadow dragon by the name of Jaddra had attempted to infiltrate Waterdeep by transporting a small castle from the Shadowfell to the Material Plane, but she missed the city and landed in Undermountain instead. You found the hag who had escaped your earlier fight, attempting to rebuild her coven by swallowing a young boy, slew her and rescued him, before sending him on his way to Skullport via the skeletal gondolier on the Sargauth River.
  11. You defeated the surviving members of the Triumphant Trust adventuring party, avenging their comrades they had betrayed and murdered. Now their fortress is yours. Down on the Twisted Caverns level, House Auvryndar is establishing a foothold, but something has been killing them in a most gruesome way. After a harrowing retreat from Auvryndar forces, you return to the surface.
  12. The Twisted Caverns had been taken over by an aboleth named Illuun, and you helped a kuo-toa tribe defeat it. Their leader, Noolgaloop, apparently won Dungeon of the Mad Mage as a result.
  13. You have arrived in Wyllowwood: "HARM NOT, LEST YE BE HARM'D". You almost immediately slaughtered a group of giant spiders and ettercaps. After meeting Wyllow, you began slaughtering goblin werebats at her behest.
  14. Wyllow demanded the deaths of all of the werebats, not just the adults. Cúthalion did not hesitate to follow an elf's instructions. After getting rid of every lycanthrope, you became trapped on Lost Level until you could enter the Heart of the Mountain. You found Skella Ironeye in the Temple of Dumathoin and slaughtered her and her men, before eventually breaching the door to the Heart of the Mountain.
  15. You returned Azrok's dagger to him, exchanged it for Kressando Rosznar's signet ring, and returned it to his sister Esvele.
  16. The archwizard Maddgoth invited you to stay in his castle.
  17. Maddgoth attempted to kill Finn, and successfully killed Ludwig. You returned to the surface in order to resurrect your companion.
  1. You met a family of stone giants: father Gravillok; mother Speleosa; daughters Obsidia and Xorta; and sons Rhodos and Qurrok. Qurrok was killed by some adventurers while you were distracted by Speleosa's violent reaction to vermin in her home.
  2. Skullport's hoist is repaired, and the town will begin trade once again. You made your way to Slitherswamp and found a maze full of undead.
  3. Control of Slitherswamp is divided between the Blacktongue tribe of bullywugs, and a group of nagas called the Ssethian Scourges. You promised a ghost that you would kill the nagas so that she could be free to move on to her afterlife. Encountering the Ssethian Scourges, Ludwig and randolph fell to their enchantment while the rest played pretend.
  4. Grel Momesk of the Gentlemen Bastards has requested your aid in freeing his companions from the Blacktongues. You met a bullywug named Torbit who would have been king of the Blacktongues were it not for the outsider Kuketh who took the throne in his place. To slew Kuketh (who turned out to be a death slaad), his companion Hyin (who turned out to be a blue slaad), and Kuketh's pet hydra (an actual hydra).

Kythorn

  1. Trolltide Noctus gets his Ssethian curse removed at Helm's Hall.
  2. Illuun's poison has been completely cleared from the Twisted Caverns. You made your way back down to Slitherswamp, and found a tunnel dug out from there past the wards of Undermountain. And then triggered a magic circle which transported you to the ever-changing chaos of Limbo. A scroll of plane shift found on a red slaad was your ticket back to the Material Plane.
  3. You begun doing some more exploring on your way back down to Slitherswamp along the way, you stole ownership of a djinni from a group of githyanki warriors, and Ludwig crushed a slaad in a trash compactor.
  4. You've enrolled in Dweomercore, and did a little bit of exploring before your assigned classes begin tomorrow.
  5. Arcturia's guest lecture covered philosophy of transmutation, and showed off the Cheeky Pluckers which she had "plucked" from higher up in the dungeon and subjected to transformative magic. Necromancy class covered immolate veins, a spell designed to torture, but never kill. Professor Medley gave you detention for killing a valuable cloaker.
  6. The High Wizard Tournament has been announced, and Randolph Vistar has submitted the Delusionals for consideration in the event.
  7. All members of the Delusionals and all of the upper classmen were selected to participate in the tournament. Violence and Turbulence seemed surprised, perhaps someone else submitted their name. Karstis was also selected, but he's dead.
  8. The first event of the tournament: Retrieve a dragon egg. Spite attempted to betray you, but you betrayed him first. However, you were slow arriving at the dragon's lair, and only Randolph and Ludwig gained any points.
  1. Guildhall Day
  2. The second event of the tournament: Retrieve something precious that was stolen from you. Randolph moved up from 7th to 5th place, and Ludwig from 8th to 6th. Fin and Noctus are now on the board, but are still trailing at the end of the pack (only ahead of Violence, who died before completing the first event, and Karstis, who died before the first event).
  1. Summer Solstice / Dragondown
  2.
  3. The final event of the tournament: Navigate the Maze of the Spotless Mind, and retrieve a coin from the grail at the center, guarded by a sphinx. The goblet was the phylactery of a lich named Ezzat, and protected by a symbol of death. You slew most of your classmates, and made it out in one piece. Ludwig claimed top prize in the tournament.
  4. You descend into Muiral's Gauntlet. House Auvryndar has a presence here, and you have begun systematically slaying your way through it. A troglodyte named Gorzil leads a tribe of the creatures, who have been enslaved by House Auvryndar, and wish for freedom.
  5. Muiral the Misshapen animated the corpses you left behind as you slept. In Lolth's Palace, he waited for you. In Lolth's Palace, Ludwig forced him to face his own reflection before Noctus cleaved him in twain. Ludwig learned new information from the Stone of Golorr, then promptly forgot it.
  6. You looted Halaster's treasure vault on the 10th floor, then returned to the surface to cure your Weave Addiction and get some downtime.
  1. You descend into the Troglodyte Warrens; House Auvryndar is in conflict with House Freth, and both are being hunted by a balhannoth and a behir with magical runes carved into its hide. The native troglodytes and trolls are caught in the middle... and something is transforming the trolls, too. At Halaster's behest, you brought the balhannoth and behir together so that the Mad Mage could broadcast their fight across the multiverse.

Flamerule

  1. Founders' Day you descend into the Maze Level, where Sim, a simulacrum of Halaster Blackcloak, is getting married to Erelal Freth, matriarch of House Freth. Sim has gained independence from his creator, and doesn't want to die, which will happen if either Erelal or Halaster learns the truth.
  2. You disrupted the wedding and slew the drow, before descending to Trobriand's Graveyard, a vast desert with an open sky. You salvaged vehicles from raving insane hobgoblins to help cross the expanse, and quickly ran into Zox Clammersham. Halaster bade you to escort Zox back home and protect him there from The Broken. Zox needed his control ring, which you recovered from a massive construct that shocked and stomped you; the Shockerstomper. Control ring in hand, Zox wanted to pay his respects to the myconids that had given their lives to protect him from The Broken before.
  3. First day of Sornyn Randolph and Noctus faced the bore worm while trying to retrieve additional vehicles.
  4. The myonid colony was burnt to the ground. Its sovereign had survived and would eventually be able to rebuild, but it shunned Zox, declaring that it regretted protecting the gnome.
  5. Last day of Sornyn Zox elicited your assistance to restore his shield guardian, which The Broken had destroyed.
  6. At dawn, Yargoth the Breaker attacked with The Broken and an infernal war machine. Upon defeating them, Halaster rewarded you by teleporting you directly to Arcturiadoom. There, Halaster initiated a 10-minute countdown of the Weapon of Mass Disintegration that Arcturia has created. He gave you clues to the locations of 6 keys which would let you shut down the weapon before getting turned to dust. Upon your success, Halaster sent you to an extremely boring demiplane for 3 months for the show's midseason break.
  7. Lliira's Night
  1. Flamerule ends, while you are in Halaster's demiplane for the midseason break.

Midsummmer

Midsummer is a single day between the months of Flamerule and Eleasis. It is not itself technically a month.

  1. Autumn Equinox / Brightswords
  1. Eleint ends, while you are in Halaster's demiplane for the midseason break.
